Starting in early June, we will be hosting an exhibit in the City Hall entryway highlighting some Greene County history.  The exhibit will include a map when Greene County was founded, some Revolutionary War information, pictures of some early structures in the county, information about the Cherokee Trail of Tears, and authentic reproductions of dresses of Native American women.

This exhibit is free and will be here through the 4th of July, so come down and catch a glimpse of what Greene County looked like before the War Between the States.

Mayor and Board of Aldermen

Mayor: Aaron Kruse

Aaron was elected mayor in April of 2010 after serving as Ward 1 Aldermen since December of 2007. Aaron has lived in our community for the last five years. He serves in our community at the First Baptist Church, Battlefield as their Associate Pastor.

Alderman Ward 1: Stephen Esterline

Stephen moved to Battlefield with his wife Leann in October of 1985 and was elected to into Ward 1 position in 2008. Stephen has worked for O'reilly Auto for 27 years. On a personal note Stephen has 2 wonderful daughters and loves to BBQ in his spare time. One of Stephen's goal as Alderman is to see more community involvement.

Alderman Ward 1: Michael Goldenberg

Michael, his wife, and two children have been residents of Battlefield since July of 2000; and he was appointed as Ward One Alderman on May 4, 2010. He currently owns and operates a successful business, and has since 2002. Michael is involved in children and youth programs at his church. He enjoys helping others and looks forward to serving the community of Battlefield. Michael would like to encourage citizen involvement with the community growth while maintaining a family atmosphere in our area.

Alderman Ward 2: Carolyn Poole

Carolyn Poole was appointed to the Board of Alderman in March 2010 and serves for Ward 2 area. Carolyn and her two children moved to Battlefield in 2006. Carolyn works for McKesson Corporation as a Senior Software Engineer and has been there for the past 14 years. She is committed to helping out others and looks forward to the helping the community of Battlefield in any way that she can.

Alderman Ward 2: Scott Anderson

Scott and his family have lived in Battlefield since Aug of 2003. He has 5 daughters and 2 grandbabies. Scott works for the USPS as Supervisor over Customer Service in Ozark. He looks forward to serving our residents, being a part of our city's growth, and continuing the fight to get the Post Office moved to Battlefield. He is a veteran in the Army and loves to play golf.

Alderman Ward 3: Debra Hickey

Debra and her family moved to Battlefield in October 1985. She joined the Board of Aldermen in December 2005 to fill a vacancy and was elected to serve in April 2006 and 2008. Debra holds a Bachelor's Degree from Drury University and is a graduate of the Drury Law Enforcement Academy. She is employed by Springfield Public Schools as the training officer for School Police Services. Debra enjoys traveling, reading, writing, music (she is an accomplished violinist) and spending time with her four grown children, their spouses, and her six grandchildren.

Alderman Ward 3: Shawn Billings

Shawn was appointed to the Board of Alderman in February 2010 and serves Ward 3. He and his wife Holly moved to Battlefield in 2008. Shawn earned a Bachelor's degree from University of Missouri – St. Louis and a Master's degree from Drury University. He currently serves the 31st and 39th Judicial Circuits as a Drug Court Administrator and has nearly a decade of experience working in Juvenile Justice. Shawn is committed to public service and looks forward to the opportunity of serving the community of Battlefield.

City Hall Staff

Rick Hess, City Administrator

Rick is responsible for oversight of the daily operations for the City and serves as liaison between the staff and the Board of Aldermen. He is the first City Administrator for Battlefield, starting his job January 2008.

Susan Diehl, City Clerk

Susan was hired in September of 2001. As City Clerk she is responsible for records management, elections, meeting administration, payroll, financials, custody of the official seal and serves as office manager.

Meghan Keller, City Collector

Meghan was hired in February of 2006. Collector duties include sewer billing and collections, business licenses, assistant to City Clerk, customer service as receptionist and phone attendant, Advisory Park Board assistant and Notary Public.

Marilyn Horn, Court Clerk

Marilyn was hired in February of 2006. Her duties as Administrative Assistant in the Police Department include receptionist, maintaining daily logs and monthly reports providing support to the Chief of Police. Duties as Court Clerk include maintaining docket sheets, defendant files, deposits, reports, warrants and managing files for Municipal Judge for twice monthly court dates.

Gary McEndree, Building Inspector

Gary has been an employee of the City of Battlefield since July of 1995. Duties include reviewing plans and providing inspections for subdivisions and buildings, permits for sewer and buildings, and assistance to the Public Works Department as needed.

Mike Yeubanks, Maintenance Supervisor

Mike began his employment with the City in February 2003. Mike is responsible for maintenance of our city streets, parks, right-of-ways and city owned buildings. He is the contact person for animal control and utility locates and is assistant to the building inspector, Sewer Maintenance and Emergency Management Departments.

Paul Redman, Maintenance

Paul began his part time work with the City in May of 2004 and works closely with Mike Yeubanks in Public Works area. He also works for the Springfield Public Schools maintenance department.

Andy Kehoe, Sewer Maintenance

Andy joined the City staff in December of 2006 and is responsible for the ongoing operation and maintenance of our sewer collection system. Andy also works as an assistant to Mike Yeubanks in Public Works Department.

Randall Moody has served as Emergency Management Director for the City for several years, including during the 2003 tornado situation and more recently the January ice storm, with our recovery and response efforts. Because Randall is a volunteer, if you believe you need to contact him, please call City Hall during normal business hours or contact the Greene County Emergency Management Office at 829-6200.
