Common Nuisances
Section 215.100: Weeds, High Grass or Other Vegetation
Weeds & Grass - All persons owning or occupying any lot or tract of land in the City shall keep the weeds, high grass and other vegetation growing on such property cut and removed. Whenever such weeds, high grass or other vegetation shall attain the height of twelve (12) inches, it shall be deemed a public nuisance.

Section 215.010: Nuisances Affecting Health
The following are hereby declared to be nuisances, provided that such listing shall not be deemed exclusive:
- The throwing or depositing or causing to be deposited in any street, alley or other public place or on any private property of any garbage, refuse, filth, debris…or causing or permitting such or any offensive matter to collect or remain in any place to the prejudice or annoyance of others.
- Stagnant Water - Any pond or pool of unwholesome, impure, stagnant or offensive water found upon any lot or piece of ground.
- Insect havens - Any water accumulating and remaining, continuing or stagnating upon, in or about any lot, tract or piece of ground or any barrels, buckets, kegs, tubs, cans or vessels of any kind whatsoever caused or permitted to be thrown, placed or remain upon any lot, property or grounds on the City that might, could or would catch, hold, contain or retain water in which mosquitoes or insects, bugs, worms or living creatures might be bred, hatched, raised or allowed to remain or accumulate.
- Dilapidated, unsightly or unsanitary buildings - or parts thereof, foundations or excavations therefor, or buildings in such condition to be unfit for habitation, or that may be dangerous to the public, or that may be injurious to the public health located upon either residence or commercial property.
- Damaged or disabled vehicle - part thereof or old machinery, unusable equipment or junk located on any private property, street or highway which presents a hazard to children or harbors tall grass, weeds or other vegetation or creates fire hazard or affords a breeding place or nesting place for mosquitoes, flies, rodents, rats or other vermin or any vehicle, part thereof or junk allowed to remain unmoved on any street or highway for forty-eight (48) hours is a public nuisance.

Section 230.020: Solid Waste Storage
Residential solid waste shall be stored in containers of not more than thirty-nine (39) gallons nor less than twenty (20) gallons in nominal capacity, except that residential solid waste may be stored in trash bags of adequate strength in a size not to exceed fifty-five (55) gallons. Section 230.040: Transportation of Solid Waste
Permits shall not be required for the removal, hauling or disposal of earth and rock material from grading or excavation activities. However, all such material shall be conveyed in tight vehicles, trucks or receptacles so constructed and maintained that none of the material being transported shall spill upon the public rights-of-way.
Section 210.240: Definitions
- Projectile Weapon
- Any bow, crossbow, pellet gun, slingshot or other weapon that is not a firearm, which is capable of expelling a projectile that could inflict serious physical injury or death by striking or piercing a person.

- Exhibits, in the presence of one or more persons, any weapon readily capable of lethal use in an angry or threatening manner;
